The Nature of Consiousness

Hello Everyone,

I was browsing Facebook today and one of my friends posted a link to this story:
Why Physicists Are Saying Consciousness Is A State Of Matter, Like A Solid, A Liquid Or A Gas
It explains that theoretical physicists are now thinking of consciousness as a state of matter, like the ones we already know: solids, liquids and gasses. How cool and mind-bending is that? Also, what doors does this open for understanding the possibilities of non-human consciousness?
